LOS ANGELES - Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, joined by Councilmember Paul
Koretz, and business, labor, and community groups, announced $3.3
million in federal Workforce Investment Act grants for job training
programs in high growth, high wage industries. The grants will fund
training for 1,000 workers in high growth, high wage industry sectors
such as entertainment, construction, transportation, security, financial
services, green technology, hospitality, and healthcare.
