Dr. Cardoso received her master's degree in counseling from Columbia
University Teachers College and worked for two years as a vocational
rehabilitation counselor in the South Bronx in a residential drug
treatment program. She is a liscensed psychologist in the States of New
Jersey and New York and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. She
received her Ph.D. in rehabilitation psychology from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison. She completed a one-year clinical predoctoral
psychology internship at Harvard University's, McLean Hospital and a
postdoctoral psychology fellowship at Yale University's, Yale
Psychiatric Institute. She has served as the President of the New York
State Rehabilitation Counseling Assocation in 2002, the executive board
of the National Council on Rehabilitation Education and on the American
Psychological Association's Committee on Disability Issues in
Psychology.
