Baby Giveaways
 This success of promotional giveaways is simply not because of giving 
away something for free. As a matter of fact, the cost of these 
giveaways have many times been so small that the factor of the dollar 
value of the item given away has hardly mattered. What then has been the
 psychology behind this success, one might wonder. The first and 
foremost reason, I believe, is the fact that the recipient gets a warm 
feeling that the giver, be it a corporation or an individual such as the
 host of a party, has gone through the pains of purchasing something to 
hand over to them. Thus it could be a simple coffee mug or an automobile
 bumper sticker, a ball point pen or something similar, but the fact 
that the purchase was made and the pains taken in the process gives a 
warm feeling to the receiver and so he or she is more likely to remember
 the corporation or the individual longer and in a positive manner.
