Richard's areas of clinical interest are therapeutic group work with
children and working with adolescents with Asperger's Syndrome. He is
interested in research into therapeutic services for young people in
educational and community settings, and research into the effectiveness
of clinical interventions for young people with autistic spectrum
disorders. In Blackburn Richard is involved in a borough-wide research
and intervention initiative aimed at reducing educational exclusions
through the provision of speech and language interventions.Richard
joined the Course as part-time Clinical Tutor for the Child and Family
Specialty in May 2005. He qualified from the Lancashire Clinical
Psychology Training Course in 1998, and has worked in the Blackburn
Clinical Child Psychology Service since 1999.
