Sateen deck: Plain-color, tightly-woven deck cover, usually cover-coordinationted with outer upholstery fabric. It is generally conceded that putting the outer or major upholstery fabric on the deck is a waste of money, and it also increases wear on the major cover due to the cover-to-cover contact. No major upholstery manufacturer “self-deck” (uses the same fabric on the deck as on the over-all frame) unless you requires it. Do not request it. It will do nothing good for you or your upholstery.
