Computer Donation
UQ Psych has donated 10 computers to The Pyjama Foundation, a charity that assists some of Brisbane's most vulnerable youth. The
Pyjama Foundation's Love of Learning Program recruits, screens and
trains volunteers, known as Pyjama Angels, who visit children in care
every week to read books aloud, play educational games and help them
with their homework. Dr Emma Collier-Baker, from the UQ
Psychology School's Early Cognitive Development Centre, is one of the
foundation's Pyjama Angels and said the donation will help the children
who need it most. “Providing opportunities for children in
foster care to enjoy learning and improve their literacy has far
reaching benefits and several foster families will receive a computer
as a result of the school's donation,” she said.
