Some shots I took yesterday. First Nations people called these fish dog salmon because of their prominent canine teeth at spawning time. These fish change from beautiful silvery torpedoes to toothy, hook jawed dinosaur like spawners in a matter of days. Within a week or two after entering the river these fish complete spawning and die.
