Cystic Fibrosis Forums
For my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology I am carrying out a study to
find out about the psychological well-being of adults with CF and how
they use the internet for social support. I hope that people aged 16 and
over will fill in an online survey and allow me to read and use the
posts they have made on the CF Forum over the last six months. The
survey will ask about mental health, quality of life and emotions and
forum posts will be used to see what sorts of topics come up for
discussion.Finding out about adults with CF, their psychological
well-being and how they use discussion forums might be important in
helping professionals think about how people get support from others
using the internet. It could also help understand if the forum provides
something for people with CF that they might not get elsewhere from
family, friends or health professionals.
